My Story

As IIT aspirants await to write their JEE (Mains) in this year of disruption caused due to the covid-19 pandemic, we bring to you a snippet from Rajat's reflections wherein he recounts his own journey.

Rajat Sethi has attended IIT Kharagpur and Harvard after which he has created a niche as a strategist in the Indian political space. He is part of the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) and is known to have played a significant role in how the party created political space for itself and forayed into Assam, Tripura and rest of the North East.

Here, he recounts in this segment how he approached the phase between 11th Class and enrolling into Bachelors program at IIT Kharagpur. Role of his Hindi teacher at school through her sane advise in his decision making. How he adapted to life at Kharagpur where he realized his ultimate goal of transferring to computer science engineering.

In the course of Rajat Sethi's recollection, you get a sense of how he has endured that feeling of owning an accomplishment. After a lot of persevering. Perhaps, situations like these are the causes of ultimate happiness.

An important message: It is not be-all and end-all of life's goals for anybody. There will always be options to choose what you want to do in life. And pursue those choices with utmost sincereity and hard-work.

On a connected note, you must consider the linked story as narrated by Dr. Debashis Chatterjee, Director, Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIMK) who says, "grace comes in many forms".

"You should not close the options of doing something in life too early in life", says Leadership Guru, Bestselling Author and Management Educator, Dr. Debashis Chatterjee, Director - IIM Kozhikode
